Visual Writing Targets for KS1 & 2

A resource to help KS1 & 2 teachers communicate writing targets with children.

Makes a set of visual targets to be stuck into children's books. I have found this to be extremely useful as it makes the purpose of the work clear and makes marking that much easier and more meaningful for the children.

Hold Down SHIFT:

When you shrink the image in your label template it's worth holding the SHIFT button down as it maintains the aspect ratio of the image, (stops it getting fat or skinny).

Draw a quick version:

When I'm marking with this system I tend to draw a quick version of the symbol above the words. So if I see an adverb I would draw a little '#' above it. If I see a conjunction then I'd draw two arrows coming together above the word. It makes the successess so much clearer to the children and links back to the targets.

Draw a yellow box:

As you mark children's work you can turn the page and draw a yellow box around the target for next time on the next page.

Hope it helps!

Please note in providing these images I am giving licence for their use within you school only! Not for resale! Strictly NOT for redistribution or use in any other format other than on your target stickers or a wall poster within your setting.
