A money demonstration tool. Includes UK Sterling, Euros, US, Canadian and Australian Dollars.

Learning Objectives:
Y1: To recognise and know the value of different denominations of coins and notes.
Y2: To solve simple problems in a practical context involving addition and subtraction of money of the same unit, including giving change.
Y3: To add and subtract amounts of money to give change, using both £ and p in practical contexts.

In class it can be tricky to hold lots of coins to make a total. This tool allows you to model making totals using a variety of coins.

How do I remove a coin? Drag the coin to the bottom of the screen and it will be removed.
How do I hide/reveal the value? Press the £$€ sign on the RHS to hide/reveal text.
How do I split a coin? Press the coin you wish to split, then press the split button.

Making Totals: Why not try finding all of the ways to make 20p? Drag 20p onto the stage. Then press the split button to break it down into smaller value coins.

Giving Change: Why not model paying £1 for an item that only costs 25p? Press the split to break coins down into smaller values. Then drag 25p to the bottom. Whatever's left is your change.
